Dear Readers,
All of Dominica felt panic and pain when news of a child abduction flooded local media. Years before, in 2011, a similar abduction had occurred, but the level of the violence reported in 2022 made the latest event even more heart wrenching. Every Dominican was either inside praying or on the field searching for the missing young lady. My focus as an author shifted to curbing violence against women and children as a result. Using actual news clips and verbal conjecture as fodder, I rewrote the tragic events as fiction. The novels Blessings on Blessings and Rainforest Redemption are my attempts to shine light on these tragedies and encourage conversation on the fight to end violence against women and children.
